Dale Watson on Austin City Limits

Get your honky-tonk on this Saturday as the legendary music television series rebroadcasts Dale Watson's episode!  The Moody Theater is two-stepping the night away as couples twirl and shuffle to Dale classics like "I Lie When I Drink" from El Rancho Azul and "My Baby Makes Me Gravy" from The Sun Sessions.  The episode is a fun one to watch as Dale is obviously having a blast on his long overdue debut on ACL.

The accolades keep coming for the silver-pompadoured honky-tonker.  Dale Watson's song "The Burden of the Cross" was just named one of the Best Songs of June 2015 by Esquire Magazine!  The song from Call Me Insane is a powerful ode to the white wooden crosses that dot roads honoring loved ones who have lost their lives along the highways and roads.  "Burden of the Cross" focuses on one that was removed for construction crews to widen the road.

Honky-tonk hero Dale Watson was recently on NPR's Weekend Edition talking about his latest album Call Me Insane. Stream the full interview with host Scott Simon as they chat about 'Ameripolitan' music, the state of country  music, the powerful story behind "Burden of the Cross," and more!

Stream it here!

Dale Watson

There really is no better band to act as embassador to Texas than Dale Watson whose straight ahead honky-tonk country is drawn straight from the same waters as Willie and Waylon.  So when ABC's The Bachelorette filmed an episode at Texas legendary Gruene Hall for a two-stepping competition, Dale Watson & His Lonestars were the obvious choice for the band providing the soundtrack.  If you tuned into the episode last night you saw Dale and His Lonestars serenading the dancers.

Dust off your boots and shine your belt-buckles, because Dale Watson's brand new record Call Me Insane is now available!  Austin's king of honky-tonk and torch bearer of "true" country returns with a record full of instant classics from the George Jones tribute "Jonesin' for Jones," to crooning ballads like "Call Me Insane."

Be among the first to order the CD direct from Red House and we'll send you an autographed copy (while supplies last, autographed CDs only)!
